Thank you for visiting Manzanita
Works. My name is Matthew Wendt and I am an Arizona native who started
out making a couple of lamps for my own use only to have everybody who saw my lamps rave over their beauty and urge me to make these
to market, so here I am and here is my site. Manzanita
is actually a
shrub that can grow to be as large as some small trees (just look at the
lamp on the left). Manzanita is covered by a mahogany skin that gives
it that magnificent color. Manzanita grows in moderate climates in the
southwest. Here in Arizona Manzanita grows in the middle elevations in
the mountains at an elevation between 4500 and 6500 feet. Some of my
lamps are made out of
Argentine
Mesquite which has the appearance of some medieval weapon. The
thorns are genuine and real, not inserted. These trees grow well down
here in the Phoenix area. If anyone in Arizona or the Phoenix area has
any manzanita or Argentine Mesquite trees and are willing to part with some
branches, contact me and I will make a lamp for you in trade for some
branches.
