This photo of a Mexican Manzanita (Arctostaphylos pungens) bush shows the beauty of the bush. This particular bush is approximately twelve feet tall and resembles a tree more than a bush. Manzanita is considered brush, but can grow to be the size of an average citrus tree. The leaves hold an oily substance that is extremely combustible when the ambient temperature approaches the 100 degree mark (this makes this bush/tree a dangerous fire hazard). |
